After I brought Sean home from “school” yesterday, we were playing in the living room. We were playing “knock down the tower.” He picked up two duplo blocks, one in each hand, and started hitting them together, which he’d never done before. I think the look of shock on my face made him laugh, so he kept doing it. I picked up some blocks and did it with him. We sat there and hit blocks together and laughed for about 10 minutes. If you remember the paper tearing video, it was like that. He got laughing so hard he would fall over sideways and have to catch himself. I think he realized what a big feat it was to clap things together, or maybe my pure excitement just made him excited 🙂 It’s so neat to watch him gain all of these little skills…our boy is getting so big!
Sean and I were playing a new game today. I got laughing so hard with him, that I had to get the video camera and record some of it. Unfortunately he’s been sick lately, and he got laughing so hard playing our game that he got himself into several coughing fits. Still….if this video doesn’t make you fall over laughing like it did him (literally), then you’ve got something wrong with you!
Sean had a pretty rough day today. He was a little grumpy, tired but couldn’t sleep, and most of all, just wanted extra love. The reason?? Well, the teeny tiny white spec on his gum would be a clue! Yup! He is getting a tooth! You can see it through just a smidgen of gum tissue. We’re thinking that when he wakes up tomorrow, it’ll have poked through. We can’t wait to see what our little boy looks like with a tooth! We’ll be sure to get a picture (as long as you can see it!)
**Update** The tooth did pop through. We’re trying really hard to get a picture of it, but it’s pretty difficult, as Sean doesn’t like us to dig around in his mouth. Hopefully we’ll get one soon!
Well, yesterday was quite the day. It started when Sean woke up about 45 minutes earlier than he usually does, and I couldn’t’ get him back to sleep. FINALLY I gave up trying, got him out of bed and changed him. When I unsnapped his jammies (the one-piece kind with the footies), tons of soaking wet diaper gel came tumbling out. Apparently our little super-pee-er had peed so much during the night that he made his diaper burst. He had gel all over his stomach and back, down in the legs and even in the arms of the jammies. Needless to say, I woke up Paul and we had to give him an early morning bath while I was trying to finish getting ready to work. Sean was really excited about the whole thing; baths are his favorite!
Later that day, I got calls from my mom and Paul that Sean had an allergic reaction to jello (he was playing in it) at daycare. He broke out in hives and pustules (ewww) and they rushed him to the pediatrician. They gave him Benadryl and let him go home. I stayed home with him today because he still had quite a rash. He actually slept almost 14 hours last night, not sure if it was the Benadryl or just all the commotion of the day. He did better today; got lots of rest and tons of kisses from his mommy!
So, now we have to be extra careful about what he eats (and plays in). Hopefully he won’t have a bunch of allergies, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Ok, three videos for you. The first is Sean FINALLY eating. We’ve been working with him every day for 3 months to try to get him to eat baby food. His new daycare is having some success and it’s starting to show! The last day or two he’s actually eaten some food! He enjoys it more in the evening. Tonight, we bought him some new flavors of food to see what he would think. He tried “Pear Blueberry Oats” for dinner tonight. He really liked it; actually ate 1/2 of the container; usually he only eats 1-2 baby spoonfuls. He liked feeding himself as well. Check out the cute video of Mr. Big Stuff 🙂
Next is just a cute one of him crawling and climbing around. Shows his cute little face a lot, which I thought would be good for family that doesn’t get to see him a lot 🙂
Last but not least, the video that people have told us that we need to put online…poor guy. Just watch. I see this video being shown at his wedding someday….I have a feeling we’ll have a lot of videos like these…
