Well, yesterday was quite the day. It started when Sean woke up about 45 minutes earlier than he usually does, and I couldn’t’ get him back to sleep. FINALLY I gave up trying, got him out of bed and changed him. When I unsnapped his jammies (the one-piece kind with the footies), tons of soaking wet diaper gel came tumbling out. Apparently our little super-pee-er had peed so much during the night that he made his diaper burst. He had gel all over his stomach and back, down in the legs and even in the arms of the jammies. Needless to say, I woke up Paul and we had to give him an early morning bath while I was trying to finish getting ready to work. Sean was really excited about the whole thing; baths are his favorite!
Later that day, I got calls from my mom and Paul that Sean had an allergic reaction to jello (he was playing in it) at daycare. He broke out in hives and pustules (ewww) and they rushed him to the pediatrician. They gave him Benadryl and let him go home. I stayed home with him today because he still had quite a rash. He actually slept almost 14 hours last night, not sure if it was the Benadryl or just all the commotion of the day. He did better today; got lots of rest and tons of kisses from his mommy!
So, now we have to be extra careful about what he eats (and plays in). Hopefully he won’t have a bunch of allergies, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Sean and I went to Oma and Opa’s house (Heinz and Colleen – German for grandma and grandpa) over my fall break. We had a really great time and Sean had a blast! He made best friends with their cat, Ginger, who let Sean bat and squeeze him. To give you some history, Ginger is over 12 years old and has never been a social cat or liked anyone to touch him. While we were up there, he took a special liking to Sean and didn’t care WHAT Sean did to him, Ginger just purred and rubbed on Sean. It was so cute. Check out the pictures of our stay:
