We have to start putting gates up now…he’s having a ball trying to climb up the stairs in the house! I do admit, I think it’s really cute to see him do it, so I do encourage it when I’m right there with him, but we’ll have to get those gates at the bottom of the stairs this weekend so he can’t do it without me. Unfortunately, we have wood floors at the base of one side of the steps, and tile on the other; neither of which feel very good to bonk your head on. 🙂
In other feats of physicality, Sean has officially learned to go from tummy to sitting! We’ve only seen him do it once, but that’s all it takes for him to do it more often!
Also, his new favorite thing is to watch Megabyte eat dinner. He cracks up laughing at her while she crunches and chews her food; probably has something to do with the noise and her teeth showing while she’s crunching. We stood in the kitchen for about 10 minutes tonight watching her eat while he was cracking up hysterically. Cute stuff.
Sean is saying “baba” and “dada” now! A few weeks ago, he started babbling a lot, saying va, ba, and da, but not towards anything specific. About a week ago, he looked at his bottle and reached his hand toward it and said “baba!” Now, he’ll say “baba” when he’s hungry and say it over and over again while you are making it 🙂
During our closing last Thursday Paul and I were passing Sean back and forth entertaining him. When I was holding him, he reached over to Paul and said “Dada!” We couldn’t believe it! He’s done that a few more times, looking right at Paul. So cute!
Now we just need him to say Mama so it’s fair! 🙂
We had a really fun weekend. My mom came down from St. Louis on Saturday and stayed until Monday. On Sunday, we went to the Conservatory and the Art Museum. The conservatory was really pretty – alot of cool plants. I would have taken more photos, but our main lens for the Nikon D80 is on the fritz so I was using my backup Olympus 750UZ. We didn’t get much time in the Art Museum, but we were able to visit a number of the wings and exhibits. Will have to go back there soon. Sunday night we had dinner at Teak for Emily’s birthday. Its a thai place. Brian tried to order his food with a spice level of 10 (on a scale of 1 to 10), but luckily he let us talk him out of it and ordered a 5 🙂
Monday, mom got to spend the day with Sean while we were at work. We are going to visit her this weekend too, so that will be nice quiet weekend away from Cinci.
Sean has been doing lots of new things lately! He’s really good at sitting up now; he can maneuver himself from sitting to tummy easily. He’s also been consistently rolling both ways. Today was a super day for him…after struggling for months to try to get him interested in baby food with minimal success, he SCARFED down 2/3 of a jar of sweet potatoes and a few tablespoons of rice cereal. He kept screaming at me because I couldn’t shovel it into his mouth quick enough! 🙂 Also, check out what he’s doing as of this morning: All I can say is BOY GENIUS!
Sean has his first ear infection. Luckily we caught it really early so it shouldn’t be that torturous. He HATES amoxicillin (the pink bubble gum one kids always try to get prescribed to them) but it’s only 10 days 🙂
Paul apparently had a lot of ear infections growing up; hopefully he won’t get his dad’s genes!
We went over to Jim & Cathy’s tonight to hang out and go swimming in their subdivision pool. It was Sean’s first time ever swimming and he LOVED it. He cracked up the whole time and loved being pulled through the water while he kicked like crazy! We’re glad that he had such a good time; especially since Mom’s pool will be in soon! Check out the unbelievably cute pictures below. Ladies, please try to resist his little manly body in his Hawaiian print swim trucks 🙂
