We’ve been struggling lately to get Sean to sleep in his crib. He has spent the last 7 weeks sleeping in people’s arms. I think between traveling so much and moving and having so many of his relatives around, people (including us) tend to just snuggle him constantly and so he’s never really learned to be put down to sleep. We’ve been working on it and in the process have learned that he really likes sleeping on his belly more than his back. We bought a special monitor that has an alarm on it if he stops moving/breathing for 15 seconds so we aren’t concerned about him sleeping on his stomach. Plus people have been doing it for all of time…it’s just seems like the current thing to make babies sleep on their backs.
Anyway, he’s been doing a little better with it; I’ve been tracking his eating and sleeping to start to get him in a little routine. This morning, I went in to check on him and I found him telling me exactly how he feels about sleeping in his crib instead of his mommy’s arms…check it out by CLICKING HERE.
Enjoy. 🙂

I have 4 weeks until I return to work and still have quite a bit of weight to lose to get to my ‘pre-pregnancy’ weight. Not that I really care about getting to that exact weight really soon, but I really don’t want to have to buy a whole new work wardrobe b/c I can’t fit into any of my clothes *sigh*. So, Paul and I have started doing the Weight Watcher’s points program. We’re not going to meetings or anything, but we’ve done the program before so we know how it works. I figured that if I post something on here I’ll have to stick to the plan more rigorously 🙂

5.2 earthquake rocks large region of Midwest – Yahoo! News
Apparently I slept through an earthquake this morning. Had some coworkers say it woke them up. I don’t care if you are Mother Nature…you wake me up at 5:30am and I will not be happy.

Sean’s Oma and Opa visited from New York this week. They had a great time seeing him! He’s really starting to get big; he’s likes to play in his swing and playmat a lot more now and he smiles constantly! Here are some pictures:

The Body-laptop interface is knitted from Thneed which nobody, Nobody, NOBODY needs – Engadget
Would you REALLY wear this in public?  Is your spreadsheet REALLY that important? If so you probably shouldn’t be working on it anyway because if you are in public you are probably on the wireless network at starbucks or the airport and someone is probably sniffing your packets anyway.

Shutdown Day
Mark your calendars for May 3, 2008 – its the annual ShutDown Day! This is a day where you shut your computer off and don’t touch it for 24 hours. Can you do it? Its a Saturday so I think I am going to try it out this year 🙂

Tonight my little brother Philip went to his Junior Prom! I can’t believe that my little munchkin brother is so grown up. He went with a long-time friend of his, Kelly. They looked wonderful together and I hope they have a great time!

My mother emailed me a link to this website. Chris Jordan is a photographic artist and makes some truly thought provoking pieces. They are very large so viewing them on the net probably doesn’t give the viewer a complete understanding of the impact of each peice. For example “Plastic Bottles, 2007” is 60 inches by 120 inches and “Depicts two million plastic beverage bottles, the number used in the US every five minutes.” Take a minute to look:

Ok, I figured out how to order the pictures on www.mpix.com. If anyone would like to order pictures of Little Sean, email me and I’ll give you the login information. I was going to just put the login info on the website, but it stores my address and I don’t want the world to know it 🙂
My email address is: emily@paulandemily.com
I’ll also include simple instructions for ordering, although it’s pretty simple. Just as a heads up about how great the pricing is, I ordered about 14 pictures (5×7 and 4×6) and about 90 wallets and including shipping it was only $25! Great prices.
