Artwork that’ll make you think…

My mother emailed me a link to this website. Chris Jordan is a photographic artist and makes some truly thought provoking pieces. They are very large so viewing them on the net probably doesn’t give the viewer a complete understanding of the impact of each peice. For example “Plastic Bottles, 2007” is 60 inches by 120 inches and “Depicts two million plastic beverage bottles, the number used in the US every five minutes.”  Take a minute to look:

okay…this is not a family oriented post….

Just wanted to mention that in the subject for those who care :)  My friend Jim sent these youtube videos to me and I laughed out loud so hard Emily almost took the baby away from me!  I’ve been a fan of Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, and the “Ben Damon / Matt Affleck” guys as well.

The language is NSFW although it is censored.  First thing you should know is Sarah and Jimmy have been dating for years.  Both are comedians and are usually pretty over the top.  Jimmy used to host The Man Show on comedy central (before it went down hill!).  Here are the vidoes – watch them in order  ( 1 )   ( 2 )

Calling all gear-heads…

Sean (the big sean, not the lil sean) works for CarDomain.com and they are looking to get more content on their website. If you are in a car club and want to spread the word about it, check this out:

We’re looking for people as crazy about cars as we are to give us the inside scoop on all the great auto events happening around the world. Everything is on the table, from 4×4 parties in the woods to hot rod meets at the local hamburger joint to Friday night showdowns at the drag strip.

You don’t have to be a photographer. You just have to take pictures. It’s a great way to get press for your car club, or just show off your pictures to the world. Plus, submitting events earns CarDomain swag! Interested? Click Here

Oh – did I mention you get free stuff for doing it?  You will get a free CarDomain Tshirt for each event you cover (they make really cool shirts too!  I’ve got two or three).  They are working on other stuff to sweeten the pot as well.

Why Good Will Always Triumph Over Evil

Tag: Fun Links and Stuff,General,ReligionPaul C. @ 10:08 am

Jesus and Satan were having an ongoing argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and God was getting tired of the constant bickering. Finally God said, “Cool it! I am going to set up a test that will run two hours, and I will decide once and for all who does the better job.”

So Satan and Jesus sat down at their respective keyboards and began typing away. They moused; they did spreadsheets; they wrote reports; they sent faxes; they sent emails; they sent out emails with attachments; they downloaded; they blogged; they did some genealogy reports; they made cards; they did every known job. But 10 minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky. Thunder clapped, rain poured, and, of course, the electricity went off!
Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld. Jesus just sighed. The electricity finally flickered back on, and each of them restarted his computer. Satan started searching frantically and screamed, “It’s gone! It’s all gone! I lost everything when the power went off!”

Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours of diligent work. Satan observed this and became irate. “Hold on!” he said. “He cheated! How could this be?”

God shrugged and said, “Everyone knows that Jesus saves.”

Profile Visitor Map - Click to view visits
Clicking on the map above will bring you to the map details on MapLoco’s website.  The image is updated every 24 hours and there is a list on the MapLoco website detailing the visitor details which is updated every 5 minutes.

Another blog to visit!

My brother has worked for CarDomain.com in various titles and positions over the last few years.  When CarDomain shuttered its retail sales operation, they moved him over to the editorial department where he was blogging for the CarDomain Blog.  In the last month or so, he was given a whole other project, the SoundDomain Blog, in which he monitors and writes about all things car audio related.  If you need a place to keep up on all things car audio, including the latest in new electronics, custom installs, tools, and car shows – check them out!
Sean has also written two pieces for Forbes’ Magazines online car site.  They are Here and Here.

Thinking about unplugging…

Right now I have instant messenger accounts on ICQ, Yahoo!, AIM/AOL, GoogleTalk, and my work’s Car-Part Messenger.  I’ve pretty much stopped using my Yahoo accounts because I was getting spammed; I don’t really like AOL – log into yoru account in two places? get spammed by AOL’s server to let you know – with no way of turning it off. ICQ is also bad with spam, even though my account number is one of the earliest ones of anyone I know – only six digits long, as I signed up back in 1996 or 1997.  I currently use Trillian to manage the accounts.  Aside from spam and annoying messages, its kind of silly for me to have all these messengers beacause of the handful of people i talk, most of them have two or more IM accounts in my list.  Kind of redundant.

So, first I am going to stop using Yahoo and AOL.  If you have paulhcahill in your yahoo! list…it was nice knowing you.  If you have an ICQ account and have PC (541449) in your list, you may see me around a bit longer, but I will likely phase that one out too.

Google Talk is free and works very well – it saves your history online (as an option), and has NO spam.  Plus it is compatible with AOL’s IM and i get zero spam on it. It’s also compatible with my Car-Part Messaging IM account.  Get it!

Do’s and don’ts with babies

(Big) Sean passed this link on to me. I guess he is concerned that maybe I won’t be educated enough when (little) Sean comes into our family. Here is an example:

Michael J Fox Interview

Michael J Fox Interview – Quotes on Limbaugh, Fame and Parkinsons from Michael J. Fox – Esquire
Thought this was a nice brief article.  Michael J Fox (or as he was legally named, Micheal A Fox, only changing to a J when he went to Hollywood), has been one of my favorite actors.  I thought this was an interesting article of short thoughts and quotes.  Language is a tad strong at times, but thats not unusual for this day and age I guess.  Here is one of my favorites:
“I can’t be smug, because I know that you can lose anything at any point. And I can’t be angry, because I haven’t lost it.”
