I can’t contain myself!

Tag: Baby,Friends,GeneralEmily @ 7:57 am

I couldn’t sleep a wink last night. Jim and Cathy went to the hospital last night so Cathy could be induced. She was over a week late! I had baby dreams all night and kept waking up wondering if they’d had their baby yet. I can’t wait to hear the good news and to find out if Little Sean will have a boy or girl playmate!!

Better late than never…

I know I know, I should have posted this a few days ago, but I’ve been sick! 🙂
Like I mentioned earlier, Emily and I made the trek to St. Louis to visit my parents for Thanksgiving. Sean was also in town from Seattle. Wednesday night, my sister Megan and I stayed up sharing a bottle of Chateau Ste. Michelle cabernet and talking until 3:30am (430 my time!). We rarely get to do that, so it was very cool. Thursday was Turkey Day! Man I love thanksgiving…I think we should have it at least twice a year! Although, I’m sure there are a number of turkeys out there who disagree with me. Mom cooked and awesome meal for us and Emily made the famous Marshall Rolls. Aunt Karen, Uncle Ted, and Scott made it down from west St. Louis as well and it was really nice seeing them.
Sean, Manders (friend of ours and Megan’s from high school), and myself then made our trip to the movie theatre to catch our annual bad-movie-on-turkey-day which started back in the day with my selection of “Paycheck” starring Matt Damon. Sean’s selection this year was Hitman. HOO BOY was it rotten. We got to the theatre about 15 or 20 minutes late so we missed the beginning of the movie ( **cue Office Space “I wouldn’t say I was missing it, Bob…” ***). The acting was lousy, the female character in the movie probably only got the role cause she showed her boobs. What can you expect from a movie produced by Vin Diesel? But I digress…
The rest of the week was pretty uneventful – we went out to an irish pub in Belleville, IL that was nice, hung out at a local bar in O’Fallon, had an awesome hamburger at Denny’s (eggs and hashbrowns on a burger! YUM!), and hung around the house. Saturday we did a family trip to Pierre Marquette State Park to lunch on their lodge’s famous fried chicken and take some family photos.
While we were home for thanksgiving Mom and Dad presented us with some new gifts for Little Sean. As we’ve mentioned before, my dad is *very* handy in wood working. When Sean and I were born, he made us a cradle that was also used for my sister when she was born. Well, now we have a cradle of our own:

Paul’s mom has also recently dusted off her knitting needles and made a fun little hat for Little Sean:

Can’t wait to have him try them both out (only three more months to go!!). Here are some highlight photos from the trip:

My parents – dad looks great! (mom too!)

I’ll post some more from my dad’s set of photos after I process the huge DSLR snapshots from his Nikon D80 🙂

Busy Busy…*cough*

Emily and I took a trip to St. Louis for Thanksgiving this year.  My sister and brother were both in town as well.  I didn’t bring a heavy enough jacket with me and now I’m fighting a nasty cold….so now I am going to bed and I will post photos and a run-down of turkey day at a time in the very near future.

How cute is that?

Our friend Daniel (Dmoney) sketched a picture of Megabyte. I hope he sends it to us so we can frame it; it’s really good!

He did it from this picture:

What a difference 11 weeks can make!

Tag: Baby,Emily,Friends,GeneralEmily @ 6:29 am

My friend Cathy had her baby shower this past Sunday. It was a lot of fun and they had some great games. My favorite was one where everyone got a baby bottle filled with apple juice and there was a contest to see who could drink 4 ounces the fastest. Well, us grown-ups couldn’t figure it out! When we finally got the flow going, it still took well over 15 minutes for anyone to even finish 2 ounces! Guess babies have the secret! 🙂

There is a really cute picture of Cathy and I together; she was heading into her 30th week, me into my 19th. What a difference 11 weeks can make! I’m sure my belly will match hers soon enough!

New Phone!

Tag: Computers and Electronics,Friends,General,PaulPaul C. @ 10:06 am

I’ve got a new phone :)  Thanks to long time friend, DMoney, I’ve got a Sprint PCS (HTC) 6700 Windows Mobile phone. :)

This phone is so sweet.  I need to get a memory card for it so I can really use it…and maybe sign up for the SprintPCS mobile internet, but its nice to finally have a phone that I can “geek out with”.  I got PocketPutty for an ssh client, its got some decent games, pocket MS office, 802.11b wireless, and I can get Opera for a web browser (it comes with IE but its only version 4.0 which is majorly deprecated).  The keyboard slides out and is very easy to type on, and the screen is pretty much big enough to easily use.   The 1.3 megapixel camera is pretty easy to use as well.  I may try to upgrade it to the Windows Mobile 6.0, but not anytime soon.

Once again- thanks Daniel!

How cool is this?

Tag: Baby,Emily,Family,Friends,GeneralEmily @ 8:09 am

I was talking to a friend at work the other day about the 20 week ultrasound. She said that she videotaped hers so she could put it online. I called my doctor, and he said he doesn’t have a problem with us taping it. So…we’re going to videotape the entire ultrasound and put it on our youtube page so everyone can see it, plus we should find out what the sex is, so that’ll be an extra perk! We can’t wait! Hopefully this will be a really cool thing we can share with family and friends!

*Remember to cast your vote for “boy” or “girl” under the post “let the games begin!”

Toby Keith

Tag: Emily,Friends,Fun,GeneralEmily @ 6:23 pm

Last Thursday night, my mom, Ashley, her friend Erin and I went to Riverbend to see Toby Keith. I haven’t really listened to country since I was younger, but we had front row seats (first real row behind the pit) so I was IN! I didn’t know many songs, but he did play some old ones so that was great. We were really really close, got to see his sweat and nipples 🙂 Check out pictures by clicking here. They are on Ashley’s webpage…she just posted them so I decided to post about it too.

So what have I been up to?

Tag: Family,Friends,Fun,General,PaulPaul C. @ 9:21 am

Quite a bit actually.  Last weekend I was up in Cleveland for my best friend’s wedding.  Congrats to Jason and Cindy!  I was best man in the wedding and had a blast.  Have you ever been toa  wedding where Elvis makes an appearance?  I didn’t think so 🙂

The following Monday, I went to the Bengals/Ravens game with Jim.  I’ve only been to one other NFL game, and that was last year when I got to sit in Jeff Ruby’s box with Philip.  This experience was completely different.  In the box seats, it was like sitting in someone’s media room with a huge TV.   In the seats – now that totally makes the game!  If I get to go to another one, It’d be fun to do some tailgating before hand.  Thanks Jim!

Know anyone needing an SUV?  I’m trying to sell the Durango to get into something a little German – an older model GTI or Jetta VR6.

I actually don’t have anything planned this weekend, which is nice.  Been a little too busy lately.  May be able to get some stuff done around the house and go to Trinity.
