Everything works!

Tag: The HouseEmily @ 7:53 pm

What a cool day at the house! Paul and I went to Lowe’s today and chose hardware for the kitchen and bathrooms. We found one we loved instantly, went out to the house and it looks great! Of course we have to wait until the house is “officially” ours to install them, but we took some pictures of Paul holding them up to the cabinets so we could picture it…

All of the electrical outlets and light switches were working. We got to turn on all of our lights and figure out which switch turns what on; always interesting the first time 🙂

We really like all of the lighting in the house except the two ceiling lights in the kitchen. We’ll have to replace them eventually, they are very cheap looking. All the rest are brushed silver and look great!

We’re really starting to get excited, less than a month to go (we think)!

$ saving tip: If you are going to install cieling fans and take down the brushed nickel fixtures save them and change out the cheaper fixtures with those for nice temporary fix. Or you can put them in closets since they usally have cheap fixtures.

We are just going to put in different lights, probably similar to the ones throughout the rest of the home. No fans. 🙂 Just those 2 weird white ones in teh kitchen we’re going to replace.

(this is paul…emily has taken over my PC 😉 ) We will def. replace the ones in the kitchen. We thought it was quite odd to have 3 lights in a space of about 12×12 ish. Will eventually replace the light above the sink with something more hip (my plans), and the main light in the kitchen I will try to hide. You’d understand if you saw the layout.
I Guess the designers were big beef fans – want a lot of light so you can tell the color of your meat 🙂 OK…maybe not.
