Cabinets, baseboards and doors!
Today they put in the kitchen cabinets, stove, microwave, dishwasher, sinks, bathroom vanities and sinks, all interior doors and baseboards. Whew!
The kitchen is really exciting, it’s starting to actually look like a home!

Hey, are they painting the house too? If so, are you having the baseboards painted the same color as the walls? If not, why did they install all the boards? That just made the job that much harder… and more $$$.
The place looks great though, I’m looking forward to seeing you all in the new home.

Hey… one bit of knowledge for you to ask your builder if you havne’t already… have them pipe your gutters underground AWAY from the foundation (at least 10 feet)… go and buy the corrigated plastic pipe and just have it laid before they grade the yard. You will thank me in 10 years.

I plan on getting some down spout addons from waterproof.com (something like that) that redirect the downspout water.
They will be painting the baseboards the same as the walls, but we will be going in before we move in to paint the walls in each room.

Actually, Paul posted that. I’m checking on the baseboards. Hopefully they won’t paint them the same color…that’d be cream. If they do, it’ll add to the amount we have to paint before we move in. Grr

Greg is more than likely correct. They didn’t put our baseboards in until after the walls were painted. I bet your baseboards are going to be the same color as the walls. Have you checked about your ceiling? Another thing to think about is if they are going to paint the ceiling. KB paints the ceiling the same color as the walls so you might want to keep that in mind if you are going to paint each room different colors might want to budget in white for the ceiling. Just something to consider.

They already finished the ceiling. We don’t have smooth ceilings; they are the white designed spackle stuff

They put the first coat of paint on today. The baseboards don’t have any paint on them, so I’m assuming that they’ll paint them white. We’ll see.
