Well, the ultrasound went really really well, and the news is…IT’S A BOY!
We noticed the little…err…big boy parts right away, he really liked showing them off. Baby Cahill is growing big and strong, and the doctor says everything looks perfect.
We have named him Sean Andrew. Sean, after Paul’s twin brother, and Andrew is my older brother Brian’s middle name. It’s really weird calling the baby Sean, but I guess we’ll get used to it. Click on the picture below to see the other pictures from the ultrasound.
We’re trying to get the video posted, but we’re going to have to cut off 1-2 minutes, since I think the videos on youtube are limited to 10 minutes. We’ll try to get it up tomorrow evening.
Paul managed to get a video small enough that it could be downloaded if you have a cable modem or DSL. The file is 96 MB. If you right click on the following link and choose “save file as” or “save target as”, you can save it to your local PC and then it should open in the Windows Media Player. RIGHT CLICK HERE We’re still trying to get one uploaded to youtube for those that aren’t as computer savy 🙂
Little Sean didn’t stop kicking, squirming and punching the entire ultrasound. He did NOT like to be poked and prodded and was trying to punch and kick the ultrasound thingy the whole time.
Paul and I went to Babies R Us and picked out a really cute overalls & long sleeve shirt set with race cars on it. Paul is already dreaming about all the ‘boy things’ he’s going to do with his son. Wow. That’s weird to say. 🙂

Tomorrow is the big day for our ultrasound! I’ll be 20 weeks, and our ultrasound is scheduled for 2:30pm. My mom is coming to the appointment, and Paul’s mom was able to take some time off work to fly down and come as well. We’re getting really excited! The baby has been kicking and moving like crazy, and we hope that it will cooperate for the ultrasound. Be on the lookout tomorrow night for the ultrasound video. We’re taping the entire ultrasound and will post it on our youtube account so everyone can watch it! How exciting!!!
If you haven’t voted yet, it’s your last chance! Post a comment today, and we’ll tabulate all the votes tonight!
Around Christmas, we’ll probably start a pool for birth date, weight and time of birth. There may even be prizes for the winners of those contests!ÂÂ

My friend Cathy had her baby shower this past Sunday. It was a lot of fun and they had some great games. My favorite was one where everyone got a baby bottle filled with apple juice and there was a contest to see who could drink 4 ounces the fastest. Well, us grown-ups couldn’t figure it out! When we finally got the flow going, it still took well over 15 minutes for anyone to even finish 2 ounces! Guess babies have the secret! 🙂
There is a really cute picture of Cathy and I together; she was heading into her 30th week, me into my 19th. What a difference 11 weeks can make! I’m sure my belly will match hers soon enough!

Yes, I had another boy dream last night: I was getting my 20 week ultrasound and neither my mom or Paul showed up :(. It was really sad, but I found out during the ultrasound that it was a boy. Wonder what’s causing all the boy dreams? Maybe it’s because Paul picked out a super cute bedding set that I’m in love with and I secretly now want a boy so I can have that bedding! lol. Click here to see a picture of it.
That brings the dream count to: Boy – 5, Girl – 1. Again…sorry those voting for girl, including myself. I can’t help it! 🙂
The baby was kicking like crazy all day yesterday. I’ve never felt so much movement! It’s really exciting. I think Paul was able to feel a little bit of the movement, but it’s still hard for him to figure out what he’s feeling for. We were watching some youtube videos last night about baby movement and were cracking up.  The first one just freaked Paul out. Guess he had no clue what we were in for! We were cracking up laughing all through the 2nd one because I can totally see Paul acting just like the husband on the tape. Meanie! 🙂

Had another baby dream last night. Well, wasn’t really a baby dream, it was another toddler dream. But either way it’s a point for ‘male’ fans out there. In the dream we were by the ocean with our son about 2 years old. That brings the dream count to Boy – 3, Girl – 1. Sorry girl fans.
Girls are, however, catching up on the vote for gender of the baby. Here’s the vote standing so far. Keep voting everyone!
BOY: Paul, Philip, Ashley, Mary, Chris, Lary, Carol, Heinz, Brian, Sean
GIRL: Emily, Diana, Ruth, Daniel, Jason, Colleen, Cate

During the sermon in church today, the baby was kicking and squirming continuously for about 40 seconds. It was awesome. I can’t decide if that means that the baby liked the sermon, or was bored. Either way, I enjoyed the movement! 🙂

I felt the baby move again last night! This time, it was more of a butterfly/tickle sensation. I’m so excited to be able to feel the baby move, it makes me really look forward to seeing it in 2 weeks! I really can’t wait until Paul can feel it move too. 🙂
